Steven 'Monty' Monteith

Captain (Ret'd) - 4th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland

A well liked and extremely capable military officer, Monty was injured by a command-wire IED whilst leading an armoured patrol in Iraq. Testament to his strength and character, despite the almost total amputation of his arm by the blast, he was able to radio in for his own medical extraction and continue commanding his men.

Monty joined the charity in 2012 and has since gone on to become a fully-qualified and capable helicopter pilot. Having been made a provisional offer by our principal sponsor 'CHC Helicopter', Monty is currently awaiting his start date.
